Just returned from a good holiday in Tuscany Italy. This despite having been robbed at Pisa airport. Bird life somewhat disappointing though apart from lots of colourful bee-eaters. Think they are all shy in case they get shot. Better news is that all three of my pictures submitted to NEWA exhibition on the Wirral were accepted in my absence and have been sold. They can be viewed along with all the other entries on the NEWA (National Exhibition of Wildlife Art) website. Currently preparing for my own exhibition at the Library in the Cornbow Centre in Halesowen West Midlands. It will run from August 2nd to 29th.

I have delivered 3 pictures for the annual exhibition of The Wildlife Art Society International (TWASI) being held at’ The Nature in Art Centre’ Twigworth Gloucestershire. It is on from 29th May to 6th June. It is well worth a visit with the advantage of seeing what’s in the Art Centre also.My pictures are two framed slate paintings of a robin and a blue tit and a double canvas picture of bee-eaters painted in acrylic.

I am quietly beavering away producing entries for this years exhibitions at Nature in Art ,Twigworth Gloucestershire (TWASI) and The National Exhibition of Wildlife Art (NEWA) at Goredale Garden Centre on The Wirral. These are early June and July respectively,..more info later.

Isn’t it good to see some sunshine and no frosts!! I have a few pictures in a shop called ’C i B’ in the Bull Ring in Birmingham. It’s situated quite near to the statue of the Bull. If you can’t see any on show please ask the assistants.

Exhibition at Cannock chase museum now finished. Nice venue and well presented if a little isolated at this time of year. Plus sold four pictures.

Looking to place some pictures in Birmingham, will know more after visit. Time to be out and about seeking inspiration. Surprising what one warm day can do!

All pictures now provided to Museum of Cannock Chase, Valley Road, Hednesford, Staffs. There are 38 pieces to view including oil paintings, acrylics and painted scraperboards. Viewing available from monday 15th february to friday 12th March on weekdays from 11.00am to 16.00 pm. Museum is closed at weekends during winter. Do visit for a look if you can and any feedback will be gratefully received.

Got blister on palm of hand through screwing picture plates on exhibition work so that it can be fixed to the wall. less than two weeks now to prepare everything for hanging at museum of Cannock Chase.

Thought i’d bring things a bit more up to date. Christmas sales of slate paintings etc. went quite well especially at the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust christmas fair. Interested and numerous visitors made for enjoyable days.

New work now needed for Feb. 2010 exhibition at the museum of Cannock Chase in Hednesford Staffs. All go innit.

where’s the summer gone

Or more exactly where was the summer.Haven’t had any holidays yet and already I’m having to prepare for winter craft and christmas fairs. Think I’ll become a politician instead!!! Will concentrate now on producing slate paintings for the rest of the year plus hopefully a few larger works for next years exhibition. I would like to visit the ‘The Society of Wildlife Artists’ annual exhibition held at The Mall Gallery later this month but don’t really fancy the trip to London.

sorry no word for some time. I’d like to say it’s because I’ve been working so hard that I have’t had time. However I seem to be struggling to get things done this year so far. I did have 3 pics in the TWASI exhibition at gloucester again and managed to sell one and I have had 2 pics accepted for the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art (NEWA) again on the Wirral. Both have been sold and the exhib. is on NOW ’til Aug 2nd. All the pics at this exhib can be seen on the NEWA website. I have produced some new work also in anticipation of my own exhibition to be held in Cannock next year and most recently have painted ‘Alf and Dot’ two lovely springer spaniels.
