There was also excellent cup cakes and mince pies and lots of ideas for presents. I will join the Trust this year which lets face it is about time !! I shall be displaying framed bird slates in cabinets at Halesowen Library from monday 5th December and hoping that they will appeal to some people for those ‘different and unusual’ Christmas presents. Still painting one of them though but it will be finished in time.

I shall also have some work on display at Halesowen Library during most of December. I had a most enjoyable holiday in Zakynthos though apart from the injured bat which belly flopped into the pool there wasn’t a lot of wildlife to be seen. We even missed seeing any turtles because it got a bit rough out to sea and the trips were cancelled. Wouldn’t mind a bit of the sunshine now though.

Visited the exhibition myself and thought it was excellent this year. Virtually 50% of the exhibits were sold which is remarkable in the current climate. That’s why this is such a great event to be involved in. Have booked some hols in Zakynthos (will I need euros or drachmas !!) and will be interested to see what the wildlife (natural) is like there. Hope the sun shines. How quickly this year is passing. Wish I could find the brake to slow things up a bit, some of the leaves are already ‘turning’ autumn here. That’s all for now please add a comment if you want to.

I have doubts about the suitability of a marquee as a gallery space. When the weather’s poor/wet it is reflected inside the marquee and isn’t very conducive to spending time there. It’s a pity because the Nature in Art venue at Twigworth Gloucs is brilliant. I think the artwork deserves better than the ‘tent’ though. I am just preparing three pictures to be entered in the NEWA exhibition on the Wirral which starts on 15th July. There are two slate paintings and an acrylic picture. If i am lucky enough to have them selected they will be viewable on the NEWA website. Other work has included pet portraits, in particular ‘Leo’ who will probably eventually make it onto the website. Think that’s it for now so get your brushes out and experiment.

Happy new year to you. I am pretty much unmapped out this year compared with last year art wise and need to apply myself to planning the future better. Due to recent success again at Staffs Wildlife trust Fayre at Wolseley bridge, I have taken up an offer to be at their other venue at Westport Lake, Stoke on Trent on March 13th. Again it will be predominantly slate paintings on show but to a whole new clientele. After that I shall again be looking to apply to put work in the T.W.A.S.I. and N.E.W.A. exhibitions. At the moment I haven’t got a private exhibition of my own work booked, but doesn’t time fly !

Hi, thought it was about time I said something though it’s been relatively quiet since last input. I have a local craft fair in Pelsall West Mids. on November 13th followed by a christmas fayre over the following weekend at the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust headquarters at Wolseley Bridge, Rugeley, Staffs. At these occasions I mainly present acrylic paintings on welsh slate of various sizes and so thats what I have been working on for the last month and a half. And then Hey Its Christmas again !!

Before I go here’s something interesting for any travellers, treckers, bikers and sports participants or just health concerned voyagers; check out www.MEKey-icetag.co.uk Seems like a good idea.

Bye for now.
